Day 5

Today I began working on my second article. This article is going to be about Proctor memories. I interviewed the kids who live at Brenda's to find out their favorite memory from their time at Proctor. I'm planning to interview at least 5 more people, and write an article that combines their favorite memories with my own.  I also drew up an outline of how I want my newspaper to appear, so I could get an idea of what I want my columns to look like, and thus how long each article should be. Finally, I set up a time for my tour of the Press. I also contacted a few local journalists, and am hoping to set up a time to meet with them next week. Over the weekend I'm planning to create the topics for the rest of my articles and get started on writing them. Next week I plan to spend a lot of time at the Press, working on the design and understanding how a paper is printed.
